Michigan State Police are investigating a double homicide that occurred on Maple Leaf Lane in Oceola Township on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021.

A man accused of slaying his grandparents has been charged with murder.

Chance Raymond Hallam was arraigned Sunday, Nov. 21, on two counts of open murder for the deaths of his grandparents Dale Dormanen, 75, and Joan Dormanen, 79, according to the Michigan State Police.

The pair were found dead in their Livingston County home Friday, Nov. 19, by police responding to a call from Hallam, 22, who was living with them at the time, police said.

Number one rule never let your grown kids or older teenagers live with you unless they are working everyday and you have a plan in place and a time for them to leave your home. You are not dealing with the old day's kind off teens.
