Arrest in murder of South Fulton security guard

The man who police said killed a South Fulton security guard was taken into custody Monday. U.S. Marshals arrested Delveckio Upshaw for the murder of 22-year-old Brandon Jones. Jones, who was working to become a police officer, was shot in June at a house on Union Road owned by a former NFL player. Jones had been hired to work security during a big party the night of his deadly shooting.

Murder arrest follows shooting in city: police

A 25-year-old City of Poughkeepsie man was charged with second-degree murder, a felony, in the shooting of an acquaintance who was found Monday morning, police said. Rajeam Ishmel Jackson, the 18-year-old male victim and another person were walking down Main Street around Midnight Sunday when Jackson allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the City of Poughkeepsie man in the head, according to city police Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Jackson then continued to walk east on Main Street, Clark said.

Murder arrest over missing man last seen in Cardiff

Mohamed Megherbi, 24, was last seen on Tuesday 9 October in the Roath area of the city. A 26-year-old man from Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, is being held in custody, South Wales Police said. Forensics officers have searched a property in Pennsylvania, Llanedeyrn and there are "serious concerns" for Mr Megherbi, who remains missing. Mr Megherbi had been living in Newport Road in the city but also has strong links to north west London. Police said attempts to establish proof of life had failed. sourse

Arrest Made In Double Homicide Of 2 Sisters In Westchester

An arrest has been made in the case of two sisters who were murdered inside their Westchester apartment on Nov. 17. The victims where shot and their apartment was set on fire. The FBI and LAPD Fugitive Task Force took into custody an unidentified 17-year-old juvenile for the murders and arrested another juvenile for accessory to the homicide.

Arrest made in Lee's Summit man's February murder

A man is facing charges in man found dead in his Kansas City home in February. Deion E. Crum, 22, of Kansas City, Missouri is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, robbery and possession of a controlled substance. Crum is accused in the murder of Jacob Skowronski. Skowronski's death was initially ruled a suicide but police later began investigating it as a homicide.

Port St. Lucie teen charged with murder in Coconut Creek after being missing for two months

A Port St. Lucie teen was charged with murder Wednesday, the same day he was found after being missing for two months. Jason Prendergast Jr., 17, was arrested Wednesday by police in Coconut Creek, Broward County, in connection to the death of a 56-year-old Coconut Creek man Oct. 12.

Police seek to arrest man accused of trying to murder his disabled daughter

A Millcreek man faces criminal charges after attempting to kill his disable daughter and himself last week. Michael Vetere, 73, faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult. According to court documents, police responded to Vetere’s home on Nov. 13 after his sister went over to Vetere’s home and found Vetere and his daughter Marra in their bedrooms covered in blood. She told police she went over to the home after Vetere did not respond to her text messages.

Police say they’ve found the man who murdered a Cohoes teen. Thomas Slivienski, 22, of Watervliet is charged with second-degree murder. Johni Dunia, 17, was shot and killed Nov. 16 on the bike path adjacent to Central Avenue in Cohoes.

Genetic genealogy leads to arrest in 1973 cold case murder of 21-year-old woman

Authorities in California's Bay Area are one step closer to solving a 1973 cold case killing of a 21-year-old woman after genetic genealogy led investigators to an arrest this week. Deputies from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office arrested 74-year-old John Arthur Getreu Tuesday in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Leslie Marie Perlov, authorities announced. (MORE: DNA links Nevada prisoner to multiple 1984 cold case murders, authorities say) Perlov was last seen at her job in Palo Alto on the afternoon of Feb. 13, 1973, the sheriff's office stated in a press release. Her orange 1972 Chevrolet Nova was discovered later that day, parked at the gate of an old quarry in Los Altos Hills, shortly off the exit from Interstate 280 and about a 5 mile drive from Perlov's place of work, authorities said.
